SFI20119 Certificate II in Aquaculture

This course will focus on how aquaculture practices can be sustainable and how the industry can transform into an industry that is regenerating our oceans while proving food for humanity.
Course Overview
Students will study regenerative aquaculture production, monitoring, fieldwork, monitoring, environmental assessments, planning and presenting information about local aquaculture projects, clams seeding and sustainable oyster farming. This course will focus on how aquaculture practices can be sustainable and how the industry can transform into an industry that is regenerating our oceans while proving food for humanity.
Graduates at this level will have basic factual, technical and procedural knowledge of aquaculture. Students will be equipped to have entry-level positions.
Qualification Outcomes
Our graduates work and intern in a range of jobs in a broad range of fields — public relations, marketing, advertising, social media, television, radio, magazines, human resources, event planning, education, nonprofits, and technology. We’ve also had graduates start their own businesses and others go on to graduate school in communication, law, public health, strategic communications, and education.

Vocational Industry Placement (VIP)
Mandatory Vocational Placement program designed to enrich students’ educational experience through practical, real-world engagement.
• 40 weeks and requiring a commitment of 16 hours per week (Face-to-Face or online or combination of both)
• This program pairs students with an Industry Vocational Placement Host providing an invaluable opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a professional setting.
• Students have the flexibility to bring their own Vocational Placement Host (possible employers), allowing for a personalised experience that aligns with their career aspirations and interests.
The primary objectives of this placement are skills development, networking, and enhanced employability. Through hands-on experience, students will refine their professional skills, build meaningful industry connections, and significantly boost their job readiness, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
