About The Training
The Higher Level Skills program provides eligible Queenslanders with an opportunity to complete their first post-school Certificate IV qualification subsidised by the Queensland Government. Individuals are required to pay a reduced cocontribution fee to gain access to the government subsidy.

Subsidised Training Under Higher Level Skills
Co-contribution fees for Higher Level Skills eligible students start from as little as $40 for concession card holders and $60 for non-concessional students. The remainder of the course fees are subsidised under the Higher Level Skills program. It is important that you take the time to consider and compare your training options and costs as a completed Certificate IV course will use your Higher Level Skills subsidy entitlement.
Co-contribution fees may be paid on behalf of a student by a referring agency such as a JAP or other employment service provider. High School graduates, school leavers and Yr13 students may also apply.
Eligibility Criteria
You may be eligible for the Higher Level Skills funding if you meet all the following requirements:
✓ You are 15 years of age or older.
✓ Have finished or left secondary school
✓ Are a Queensland Resident
✓ Are an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.
✓ Not hold, and not be enrolled in, a certificate IV or higher-level qualification*, not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training.
* Qualifications completed prior to 1995 do not affect eligibility. If you have completed a qualification, please speak with us as we may still be able to provide/suggest other options for funding or payment plans.
