The Blue VET Teachers Nurture Program, a pioneering initiative by Envirotech Education in collaboration with the Sydney Institute of Marine Science and Gamay Rangers, offers an unprecedented opportunity to dive into the sustainable blue economy sector.

This program bridges the gap between industry, education, and students, allowing connections that will benefit teachers and students’ careers.
This program is aimed for teachers ready to bring Sustainable Blue Skills and STEM accredited programs to their school.
50094 – Aquaculture (180 indicative hours)
HSC course requirements:
• Total of 3 units accredited at the Preliminary and/or HSC level
• Core units of competency (totaling 75 HSC indicative hours)
• Elective units of competency to a minimum of 105 HSC indicative hours
• Complete a minimum of 35 hours of mandatory work placement.
VET Accreditations:
Certificate II in Aquaculture (SFI20119) & Statements of attainment towards:
• 11246NAT Certificate II in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration
•11247NAT Certificate III in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration
Trainers are required to hold:
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)
Meet TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 12 units rules, under Vocational Placement and RPL.
STREAM 1 – UPSKILLING
Program Duration: 6 months
6-month program for School-teachers to become qualified trainers in Marine and Aquaculture VET courses.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) RPL by Vocational Placement.
Training and Accreditations:
• SFI20119 Certificate II in Aquaculture
•11246NAT Certificate II in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration (fish)
•11247NAT Certificate III in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration (clams)
Time commitment (over 6 months):
• 4 Hours Weekly: 2 hours x 2 weekly evening training sessions
• 2-4 Weekly mentoring hours
• Assignments and activities
STREAM 2 – RPL
Program Duration: 1-3 months
This pathway is for Marine and Aquaculture industry or university graduates teaching staff wanting to deliver their ‘blue’ expertise in school programs.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) RPL by Vocational Placement.
• Certificate II in Aquaculture
• Certificate III in Aquaculture
• Certificate II in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration
• Certificate III in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration
Time commitment (over 1 to 3 months):
• 4 Hours weekly: 2 hours x 2 weekly evening training sessions
• 2-4 Weekly mentoring hours

FEES & RECRUITMENT PROCESS
1. School teachers who express interest in participating with the Marine & Aquaculture VET Nurture Program will be requested to share their CV and brief on their vision for their school and submit this to our Schools Team.
2. To apply for the Marine & Aquaculture VET Nurture Program:

3. School teachers who qualify for the program will be contacted to schedule an interview.
4. School teachers that participate in the program will be required to participate in validation, moderation and quality assurance processes.
5.The program fees are:
• Marine & Aquaculture VET Accelerator 6 months Program – $3,600
•Marine and Aquaculture Industry RPL – $1,800
•TAE Vocational Placement RPL – $1,800
*Full and part scholarships and internships available by application.
