Our News – Suzy James: Best Student of The City of Gold Coast!

With lots of joy, we would like to announce that our student Susy James, from certificate III in Marine Habitat Conservation and Restoration, WON the Gold Coast Student Excellence Awards, a prize given by Study Gold Coast, in the category “Excellence in protecting our environment”.

The prize was announced on Friday, 27th, at Movie World. Susy was chosen the best amongst students from Bond University, Somerset College and Griffith University!

Susy James has demonstrated great courage by making a huge change in her career during the COVID 19 pandemic. She is one of the top students of her course.

In only 6 months of studying with us she already volunteered with cetacean conservation, Seagrass Watch, and has currently helped with the rehabilitation and release of 4 marine turtles.

Susy also volunteers with SeaBird Rescue, working with marine turtles once a week and with Humpback and high rises. She is going to the Whitsundays Islands to help in a coral restoration project.

“After 25 years of working for Qantas, Susy shares her kindness inside and outside the classroom. She is an inspiration!” says Maria Luiza Schmitz Fontes, one of the trainers of our course. At this picture, Susy is on the left and the trainer, Maria, is on the right.

“I feel so humbled and honoured to have received this meaningful and beautiful award. This award means so much to me as it acknowledges how important it is to follow our hearts and do what we love! I am deeply grateful for being recognised for doing the work that brings me joy”, says Susy.

Well done, Susy! It´s an honor to have you as a student at Envirotech Education. Keep going!
