Envirotech Vocational Placement Information for the Agents
Vocational Placement is a crucial component of a student’s education, offering student the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to real-world situations.

Duration:
The placement spans 16 hours per week for 40 weeks, including time allocated for completing unit assessments.
Target Students:
Mandatory for new students who started in January 2024.
Essential for current students who began their studies prior to January 2024.
Objective:
To provide students with practical experience that complements their academic knowledge, enhancing their skills and qualifications.
• A dedicated communication platform (Teams) for all vocational placement-related information.
• Orientation sessions to highlight the program’s importance, goals, and expectations.
• A list of work placement opportunities, including application processes and deadlines.
• Support from designated work placement officers for each qualification, serving as the main point of contact.
Placement Host Collaboration
• Partnerships with reputable organizations in fields such as Marine, Sustainability, Conservation, Ecosystem Management, and Hospitality.
• Development of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and Vocational Placement Host Agreements to define roles and expectations.
• Regular meetings with placement hosts to discuss student performance and address concerns.
Team Roles
• WP Coordinator: Manages overall program coordination and communication.
• Trainers: Explain the program’s specifics to students.
• Mentor/Supervisor at Host Organizations: Guide students, providing feedback and assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Students:
• Engage actively in the placement process, including attending orientations and submitting necessary documents.
• Adhere to workplace rules and maintain professionalism.
• Complete and submit all required assignments and projects.
Placement Host:
• Provide a structured learning environment aligned with the student’s educational objectives.
• Offer hands-on experience and industry exposure.
• Deliver regular feedback to both students and the Envirotech Education team.
